How to Help

News

Here at Simone’s Kids, we would love for our support system to get involved with us. Many people see ‘get involved’ and their first thought is that they have to take a trip to Africa. However, there are so many ways to become a part of our team without even leaving your couch!

One of the easiest ways to get involved and really make a difference is to start your own fundraising page.   An extremely popular outlet to do this is on Facebook, where people happen to love celebrating a special day in everyone’s life known as a birthday!  Your birthday is a perfect opportunity to do a fundraiser for Simone’s Kids.  You can decide if there is a special project at our school that you would like to raise money for, then start your fundraiser and share with your friends.  It’s as simple as that.  To be honest, I have not seen a fundraiser (for any cause or organization) that was unable to raise money.  Even if you raise $10, that is $10 more than we had before that can be used at God’s Hope Schools in Uganda.  Never think that you can’t do enough, because you can absolutely play a big part in helping out our students.

Another method of getting involved is to come to our office in Cartersville, Georgia, and help out our administrative assistant on several day-to-day tasks that need to be done.  There are multiple times in the year when we send out child sponsorship packets, mail outs, invitations, and gifts to our sponsors. By coming and sacrificing your time, it is valued just as much as a financial contribution would be.  You can come and learn more about the work that Simone’s Kids does, you can see some of the faces behind the organization, and you can leave knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of our students in Uganda by giving your time.

We would love to see our sponsors and supporters become more involved.  If you feel like you could help us in any way, we would love for you to reach out and let us know.  You can email info@simoneskids.org to come and volunteer in the office, and you could also email me at mason@simoneskids.org to get a look at some urgent needs in Uganda if you are interested in starting your own fundraiser! We appreciate each and every person who believes in the vision of Simone’s Kids and we love having  people get involved in the process. Email us today to see where you can help!

Becoming a Mother: A Mother’s Day Reflection

News

Since becoming a mother a couple years ago, I have come to appreciate the value of providing for my child a proper education.  I watch my little boy play and interact with others and realize the importance of a solid foundation. The beginning of his childhood can make a huge impact on his future. So many mothers around the world cannot afford to send their children to school because not even public education is without cost. There are many moms working side jobs only to keep the family fed. In their culture, paying for an education is a luxury, not a necessity such as food and shelter.

Simone’s Kids recognizes these needs in Uganda and comes along side these women. Women who want the best for their children, and we offer and provide them with hope. We take their children and start them in school so that they can have a solid foundation. The children in the Simone’s Kids program have a hope that they can one day provide for their own future families. One day every one of these children are going to be mothers and fathers themselves. We are expecting that with the help of our programs our kids will grow up to be leaders in their country. These students will be making a bigger impact in their communities and changing the world around them.

Please help us change the future for a child, a family, and an entire country.

Sponsor a child or share with a friend about the opportunity. It WILL make a difference.

Springtime begins the restoration of all things. Flowers are a beautiful example of new life at the end of a cold, hard winter. They display vivid colors, a feeling of joy, and the appreciation of new beginnings. So many of our kids need a new beginning. Many come from torn and destroyed families where they have been abandoned, rejected, and become outcasts in society. Just like flowers and gardens, our kids need caretakers; people to watch over and care for them. With the proper tools, such as a loving caregiver, a child can truly blossom.

We have missionaries and school directors on the ground providing our kidswith daily counseling and instruction. They also make sure all of the operational tasks at Simone’s Kids are running smoothly and ensure our funds are being used properly.

BUT currently we have 88 kids in our program that do not have sponsors! We must get them covered with a sponsorship before we can help more children. During the month of May we will be sharing on social media all of the 88 children who are currently waiting for a sponsor. We know that many of our supporters are already sponsors, so we are asking you to share the stories of the waiting kids. Reach out to friends and family members that have been waiting on a good organization to support.

Here are some amazing things you can tell your friends and family about the Simone’s Kids Child Sponsorship Program:

  • 100% of the Child Sponsorship funds go to the kids
  • The children are provided with an education, food, and housing
  • The monthly support provides school supplies, teachers, books, food, counseling staff, shoes, mattresses, hygiene products, safe classrooms, bathroom facilities, and more to the kids!
  • You are able to watch your child grow by receiving an updated photo every summer.
  • You are able to communicate with your child on a monthly basis.
  • You can give your child a special gift at any time, and our Child Sponsorship Coordinator that is in Uganda working full-time will purchase the gift on your behalf and give it to the child. You will then receive a photo in return of your child receiving the gift!

Send your family and friends to the link below to sponsor a child today and make an impact of a lifetime!
